Itinerary #3:(10D/09N) San Jose- Arenal- Tamarindo beach- San Jose

Day 01: San Jose

At your arrival to the International Airport, our driver will be waiting for you and transfer you to Country Inn and Suites hotel. This beautiful hotel is located 10 minutes from the International Airport, the hotel offers swimming pool, tropical gardens, gym, internet and comfortable room with private bathroom, hot water, tv cable, and air conditioning. Day 02: San Jose/ Pacuare River Rafting /Arenal

We will pick you up at your hotel and head through Costa Rica’s colonial capital city of Cartago before rising up through the fertile countryside that surrounds the base of Turrialba Volcano. We’ll stop for a delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast along the way. Once we arrive at the verdant banks of the Pacuare River, our professional guides will instruct you on paddling techniques and safety procedures before you don your helmets, grab you paddles and climb aboard the inflatable rafts for an unforgettable adventure. The Pacuare is a swift flowing river that offers visitors a unique and exciting rafting experience within one of Costa Rica’s most unspoiled wilderness areas. In fact, expert rafters call the Pacuare one of the world’s best white-water runs.  Lunch on the way.  Continue to Arenal Volcano Area. Overnight al Lomas del Volcan Hotel. Lomas del Volcán, within the property of a 150 hectare farm  ,  it´s hotel situated on a mountainside  of one of the most active volcanos of Costa Rica. The hotel sits at the foot of the majestic Arenal Volcano, and it is  surround it  by a Tropical Rain Forest, which gives you the opportunity, of ,  besides seeing Arenal,  enjoy a wide varity of plants and  wildlife such as: Birds (two species of toucans, warbles, hummingbirds and so many more ), howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white nose coaties, and so many more natural surprises!

Day 03: Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge / Arenal

After breakfast, visit to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge: The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and the Rio Frío are biological humid areas considered to be one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of resident and migratory birds plus three different species of monkeys, also iguanas, sloths, turtles and caymans.

The tour starts when we pick up all “Nature Lovers from the hotel in a very comfortable bus for the 1-½ hour Transfer to Los Chiles, a culturally mixed village only 4-km from the Nicaraguan border. Here your boat waits for your river adventure, at that time we begin our 2 ½ hour floating safari through Tropical Rain Forest and pastures until we arrive at the marsh.  An experienced English - Spanish speaking guide leads the tour.

Some birds are residents in the area and it is possible to see hundreds of them especially during the dry season.  Some of them are Anhinga or Snake - bird, Roseate Spoonbill, it is possible to see little groups of this bird eating in the surroundings of the river.  Wood Storks, the Jabiru, the largest bird in Central America and very endangered.  Also the Olivaceous Cormorant, that makes its nest in the area, it is also the most popular bird in the area. Along the river we can see howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white-faced monkeys, also the three-toed sloth and some reptiles like caimans, Jesus Christ lizard and turtles This trip includes a typical Costa Rican lunch, regional fruit, natural juices and coffee, canned drinks, natural juices, bottled water and cookies are also included during the boat tour. Day 04: Arenal/ Visit to Arenal Volcano National Park and Ecotermales

After breakfast, free morning to enjoy the area. In the afternoon visit to Arenal Volcano National Park and Ecotermales Hot Springs : The Arenal Volcano is active since 1968, it constantly ejects gases, water, fumaroles and explosions with pyroclastic material emissions, and sometimes the eruptions are accompanied with powerful thunders. The ash is carried by the wind over long distances especially to the northwest area of the volcano.  The biggest and heaviest material falls close to the crater. The lava flows come out of the crater with a temperature up to 1 000 Centigrade.  As the lava flows down it slowly cools off.A short hike in one of the trails close to the volcano area will give us the chance to enjoy some forest and the activity around it. At the hot springs our customers can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak, it is also possible to see the Arenal Volcano erupting from a comfortable spa. Day 05: Arenal/ Tamarindo beach

After breakfast, transfer with the shuttle bus to Tamarindo Beach, one of our most beautiful beaches. Overnight at Tamarindo Diria Hotel. Day 07: Tamarindo/ Tour to Miravalles Volcano

After breakfast, tour to Miravalles Volcano: We will drive for about one hour through the Guanacaste mountains range and majestic views of the Miravalles volcano. This colossus is one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica; its main activity is compound of gas emanations and geysers which are used by the government in a geothermal project to produce electricity. We will continue our trip with a visit to "Las Hornillas", a place situated at the foot of the volcano, where we can find some geysers all over the project. At this place we will be able to enjoy horseback ride or to be carried by a horse drawn, to get to the forest and hike through it for about 40 minutes to observe several waterfalls and some animals and plants.

To relax after the hike we can get covered by volcanic mud and enjoy the natural hot springs that emerges from the volcano getting a beauty treatment from Mother Nature. We finish our trip with a delicious lunch to get back to the hotel.
What to bring: Swimming suit, rain poncho, hiking or running shoes, sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sun block, mosquito repellent, and hat.

Day 08: Tamarindo Beach

Day 10: San Jose/ Flight back home

Breakfast. Transfer to the International Airport for your flight back home
