Itinerary #1: (14D/13N) San Jose – Punta Uva Beach– Arenal Volcano– Rincon de la Vieja National Park -Avellanas Beach– Manuel Antonio National Park - San Jose

Day 01: San Jose

At your arrival to the International Airport, our driver will be waiting for you and transfer you to Country Inn and Suites hotel. This beautiful hotel is located 10 minutes from the International Airport, the hotel offers swimming pool, tropical gardens, gym, internet and comfortable room with private bathroom, hot water, tv cable, and air conditioning. Day 02: San Jose/ Punta Uva beach(South Caribbean)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast. Pick up a Suzuki Jimny 4X4 at your hotel. Departure to Punta Uva beach on the Caribbean Area. Overnight at Korringan lodge, Korrigan Lodge is located in Punta Uva, south of Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. As a real jungle lodge should be, this small family hotel recently built is nestled in the tropical forest within the Manzanillo-Gandoca wildlife refuge, This is an ideal place to fully appreciate the richness of nature with its lush vegetation and its abundance of animal life. Take a walk through the Lodge’s winding paths, home to so many differents birds, animals and flowers. Or you may want to simply lounge on your porch, carried away by the sounds of the forest and the serenity of this preserved natural shrine. Or perhaps you prefer to meditate under the canopy of the majestic century-old trees. The bungalows are architecturally designed in an octagonal shape, elevated from the ground and each with its own private porch with hammock. A screened door leads to the bedroom with its large windows and its designer bathroom equipped with a hot water shower. All the beds come with high quality orthopedic mattresses and every bungalow is equipped with a mini-bar, safe, ceiling fan and hair dryer.

Day 03: Punta Uva Beach

After breakfast, free day to enjoy the beach. We recommend you to visit Cahuita National Park which protects the biggest coral reef in Costa Rica. Overnight at Korrigan Lodge

Day 05: Punta Uva / Arenal Volcano

After enjoying breakfast, departure to Arenal Volcano Area. Overnight at Lost Iguana Resort. The Lost Iguana Resort is a boutique hotel with 42 uniquely appointed rooms on 120 acres in a primal rainforest. Every room has perfect views of the volcano. During your stay, enjoy trails through the jungle, a hot swim up bar & open air restaurant, plus a secluded spa with saunas, gymnasium and massage bungalows.

Day 06: Arenal/ Ecotermales Hot Springs

Breakfast, free morning to enjoy the area, we recommend you to visit Arenal Volcano National Park and La Fortuna Waterfall. In the afternoon visit to Ecotermales Hot Springs, Eco Termales Hot Springs in Arenal Costa Rica is a sanctuary of nature and beauty that has been the life work of the Hidalgo family. The smallest of the Arenal Hot Springs, Eco thermales is geared toward privacy and relaxation and does not accept more than 100 visitors at a time. Visitors are invited to enjoy the beautiful environment as guests of the Hidalgo family not as walk in tourists. Dinner at Ecotermales. Overnight at Lost Iguana Resort.


Day 07: Arenal/ Rincon de la Vieja National Park

Breakfast.  In the morning departure to Rincón de la Vieja National Park. Rincon de la Vieja, the largest volcano in the country's northwest, comprises a remote volcanic complex in the Guanacaste Range. At least nine eruptive vents are located within a 15-kilometer-wide caldera. The twin cone of 1,916 meter Santa Maria volcano, the highest peak of the Rincon complex, features an incactive crater 500 meters across. Overnight at Hacienda Guachipelin Hotel. The Hacienda borders the popular Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Since 1985, Hacienda Guachipelin has also been hosting a steady flow of visitors, helping them enjoy the natural beauty of the ranch and the neighboring national park, where you will experience volcanic activity as in no other volcano in Costa Rica.

Day 08: Rincon de la Vieja/ Horseback riding to Oropendola Waterfall

After breakfast, horseback riding to Oropendola Waterfall and Simbiosis Spa: The Oropéndola waterfall is a very impressive 82 feet high natural shower. The emerald green water invites for a refreshing dive. The waterfall is located in a beautiful vegetated canyon which beauty you’ll enjoy. Horseback riding: From the hotel we take a scenic trail by horse. At the end of the trail we have a short walk to get to the canyon. Although the last part of the trail is easy, it can’t be done by horse. At the waterfall we have a longer break before continuining to Simbiosis Spa .You’ll find the Spa embedded in the tropical dry forest, surrounded by the Río Colorado. Once at the spa, you start your treatment with the basic recommendation: Take a natural sauna for about fifteen minutes to open all the skin pores before you are led to the place where you can apply the volcanic mud on your skin, let it dry and later wash it off by taking a shower. Then it’s time to relax in the pools filled with thermal waters for about twenty minutes. Completing the treatment with a cold shower so the skin pores can close again, and you’ll feel reborn. Day 09: Rincon de la Vieja/ Avellana Beach

After breakfast, departure to the North Pacific Area. Overnight at Hacienda Pinilla. Along the three miles of Pacific coastline on the Guanacaste Peninsula, Hacienda Pinilla boasts three beaches, including Playa Langosta, awarded the Blue Flag certificate for its beauty, and clean water and superior services.
At these beaches, property owners and guests enjoy an array of water sports options such as snorkeling, sports fishing, kayaking and surfing. Palm tree shade and white sand intermingled with small shells provide a warm, discreet environment, making it an appealing, pleasant beach in all respects. These beaches include all of Playa Langosta, most of Playa Mansita, and all of Playa Avellanas. Playa Mansita has small areas of rocky shoreline especially visible during low tide. Of the three, Playa Langosta and Playa Avellanas are the widest and longest, with attractive sand color and favorable wave action. The land directly adjacent to Playa Langosta is more conducive to lower impact use than what is implied by traditional hotels. Playa Mansita and Playa Avellanas are adjacent to open meadows.

Day 10: Avellana Beach

Breakfast and free day to enjoy the beach and the area. A handsome stable of horses can be found within the Hacienda, right next to the beach. You can tour the beach on horseback or ride along rivers and pastures, enjoying first-hand the imposing natural landscape of Hacienda Pinilla. Sixteen kilometers of scenic nature trails are just waiting to be explored. And right on the coast we have one of the best surfing spots in the world, as well as great deep-sea fishing. There’s also easy access to the natural wonders of many Costa Rican wildlife refuges and national parks.

Perhaps the most attractive part, however, is how much you’ll be able to enjoy the country’s amazing biodiversity of flora and fauna in unparalleled serenity and seclusion. Overnight at Hacienda Pinilla.

Day 11: Avellana Beack/ Manuel Antonio National Park

After breakfast, departure to Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches and coral reefs. This beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest, and the snorkeling is excellent too. The forest is home for sloths, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys and millions of colorful little crabs. And the trail that winds around Punta Catedral affords some spectacular views. The park is easy to reach, south of the town of Quepos, and is near a good selection of hotels and restaurants.

Visiting the park, one is treated to an abundant diversity of wildlife. Cathedral Point, with its forest topped cliffs was once an island, but is now connected to the coast by a thin strip of island. This land bridge now forms the spine separating the parks two most popular beaches, Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio. Overnight at Playa Espadilla hotel, a nice, small hotel located 200 meters from the beach and the National Park. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with private bathroom, hot water, and air conditioning, restaurant, trails, and swimming pool.

Day 12: Manuel Antonio National Park

Breakfast, free day to enjoy the beach and the national park. Overnight at Playa Espadilla hotel.

Day 13: Manuel Antonio/ San Jose

After breakfast, departure to San Jose. Overnight at Contry Inn and Suites hotel.

Day 14: Flight back home

Breakfast. Drop the rental car off at the airport, flight back home.
